Golden Tee Golf : Home Edition from Radica Games

This thing has gotten a LOT of flack. I donít think Iíve ever actually read anything good about it, but itís mostly from people who are familiar with the arcade game. And itís totally understandable, because though Iíve only actually played the arcade arcade version of it a couple of times Ö I know how fanatical people are about this. The arcade game is a GORGEOUS game that obviously plays extremely well with itís unique and damned innovative trackball control scheme. Itís definitely a hard core game for video game golf nuts.

This is NOT that arcade game. Flat out. As an arcade translation, itís pathetic. The only thing it has in relation to the arcade game is the name, the fact itís a golf game and the trackball Ö which Iíll get to in a minute. This honestly shouldnít have even been called Golden Tee Golf purely because of the hardware. A TV game setup is NOT capable of doing a good reproduction of it. And thatís how Iím going to review it, completely ignoring the Golden Tee name and just going on itís own merits. Which it DOES have.

Click here to read the rest. Yeah, you see what I did there? Pretty clever huh. ;)

Thanks for posting. I have always wondered if this was worth picking up or not. If I come across one in the clearance aisle I will pick one up.

That's where I got mine, Wal-Mart's clearance isle for, like, $11.00.

Yeah I will have to check it out. I play alot of Golden Tee in the bars. "Graphically, it sort of comes off like a mix of a Sega Genesis game and an original Nintendo game." It definitly does.
