Beat Phalanx the other night

Some will remember this game as the snes game with the old dude with the banjo. Game gets VERY hard in its later levels, feels like your weapons hardly do any damage when even high-powered. I got a laugh from the "advertising zone". Anyone else play this one?

I keep thinking you mean this Phalanx mate from Demon souls, I haven't played the SNES game of the same name but it sounds interesting.

If you like side scrolling shooters, you'll like Phalanx. Its challenging, but has a unique power up system where you can hold three weapon types you can switch between, or eject one weapon system as a massive bomb. I haven't seen the sacrifice a weapon for mass destruction element implemented in other shooters.
