I guess it's coming back...just not what it was originally suppose to be.

Hate to say this, but the longer this project goes on the more uncomfortable I get about it. The attacking of people discussing it instead of addressing the issues was bad. And the re-branding makes it look like they are now trying to distance themselves from the original name since it bombed so bad during the crowdfunding phase. And the fact that there hasn't even been a prototype shown during all this also was scary.
Don't get me wrong, I would like to see a project like this succeed, I just feel it started on the wrong foot, and has had many poor decisions made so far. Price was a killer, as for me this should be priced at 200 tops. One can get a Raspberry Pi for 35, a case for 15, a USB controller for 20, and a SD card for 20 and have a fairly powerful retro console for under 100 dollars. Heck, I even host a pre-made SD card for Mame on my site just for this sort of thing. So when the console was looking at over 300 after shipping, I couldn't back it when a home made project gave the same quality, with more options, more games, and more flexibility for a significantly lower cost.

Maybe the magnetic pinball picking up staples wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Ya the Route 66 pinball project with a magnetic ball picking up staples... I still chuckle about that. Damn funny.

And the perfectly smooth balls roll too easily
A lot of people seem confused about the Coleco Chameleon saying it will play 8 bit to 32 bit games or even your old carts.
Nobody has said that. All I can see is that it will play new games in those styles.
That's very different.
