    Thanks for sharing retroshaun.
I have to say I would of loved to play Tiny Knight and Sydney Hunter on a cartridge based console (along with games from Indie game the Movie) or better yet on my arcade cocktail table.
It seems as though the retro community has been affected by this as a whole.
    Mates are no longer mates.
@subarubrat you talked in this months podcast about the replica prototype you built any chance you could post the pics of it in this thread?

Spot on? I only got 3 minutes in and stopped cause of his errors. It seems this bloke is only just new to the party on this and jumping on.
First 3 minutes he talked about how Mike first went with Kickstarter - he didn't.
He then talked about how he was going with Indiegogo this time because he didn't have a prototype. He wasn't.
Then he talked about how he should go with Indiegogo because he could keep the money but can't on Kickstarter. Wrong again.

I was referring to his commentary on Gamester81 and Pat Contri. I skipped through the recap.

Ok I couldn't get past the recap after every bit of it was wrong. Might go back and watch the rest later currently listening to the surprise RGR podcast I found in my feed this morning ep no.99 interview with Piko interactive.

I doubt very much Coleco is going to move forward with this project, I believe this is just a formality to dump it. I have seen Gamegavel decline over the past few months and recently saw Patrick Scott Patterson leave RETRO magazine so that does not bode well either. It appears everything is crashing now.
I have not seen the contract between Mike and Coleco Holdings/Riverwest Brands but I can almost guarantee that it has a series of clauses that detail what has to be done by either side to break the contract. One provision I am sure is in there is a time period (probably seven days). This is indeed more than likely a formality for them to end the partnership with RETRO Video Game Systems.

Unfortunately a lot of the people that are seeing a backlash from the community are the ones that promoted this thing the most. There are a few YouTube channels that are being brought under fire for their participation in promoting the RVGS/CC, then their reaction when it went south (such as removing videos for various reasons). This is to be expected and hopefully will die down soon. More than likely, had Mike been able to do this, and things would have worked out, it would be the other way around- the supporters would be happy to point out that the "haters" were all wrong and mocking would have probably happened from that angle too. The Internet is not a kind place, no matter what side you fall on in an argument.

    Nothing wrong with being positive.

For me, I was optimistic about this in the beginning (go ahead, read the article from February 18th, 2015 and the ones where I talked about CV and Piko bringing games to this thing). That didn't last though as things didn't jell when I did simple research- I remembered basic journalism classes from high school. I followed the sources Mike brought up and only Konami was willing to admit they knew of Mike but they said (and in the pics of private e-mails Mike later released it was proven) that there was no working relationship with Mike or his console. The rest of my coverage was simply following leads, reading interviews Mike did and taking leaps of faith in the direction that made the most sense at the time (I was right on many of those and wrong on a few).

Things didn't work out for the console and it is a shame. All that needed be done was be honest from the beginning. Instead things spiraled out of control in public and behind the scenes as we are finding out from interviews with Piko Interactive (done here by RGR) and John Carlsen (hosted here on RGR first).
The Phoenix will be revealed soon...

Have now finished listening to the extra episode, the interview with Pinko Interactive - haven't finished listening to ep98 yet.
I really found it hard to follow at times. But is their a possibility that Mike really didn't know what was going on?
