    Default I've got a Vectrex

Just wanted to tell everyone that after years of waiting for a Vectrex at the right price I finally picked one up this weekend. It is in pretty good shape too.

Nice! I have been on the fence about starting a vectrex collection myself. I played with one just a bit back in 1983 and was really taken with the system.

Everyon e should have one. Probably the most unique and playable retro system out there and very easy to collect for at mostly good prices. I just picked up one of the few remaining games I needed for a complete collection - Pole Position.

Any chance of a photo of that collection RShaun? i would love a Vectrex, the fist time i played on was at Play Expo, i had no idea a machine could actually look and play that good. I would defiantly buy one of those if i had the bucks.

Oh I wish I could post collection pics. Unfortunately my crazy work/life arrangements mean that all my stuff is stored primarily in the UK (and I am in the US) or at a couple of storage places over here. Hoping to get back to the UK in the next year or so and get life a little more on track, then I can get the collection back together.

Thats a real shame mate, but lets hope it all goes well for you and you get back to the uk safe and sound.

I love anything with a true vector display, and often play on a Vectrex when the opportunity arises, but i've never been able to justify buying one for myself, which is odd cos i've spent a lot more on systems to pretty much play just one game

Congrats! The Vectrex is one of my prized possessions, nothing beats that vector display.

By the way, there's been a lot of discussion about a collector possibly releasing the ROM for a game called Mail Plane which is a rare game that also uses the Vectrex Light Pen. It's not out yet and you probably don't have a pen but I know Recycled Gamer makes reproductions for a good price (unfortunately out of stock right now).

Probably a lot of info to take in for a new owner but I figured it was relevant and might be good info for the rest of the Vectrex owners here on GameGavel.

That is a lot of information .

I've ordered a 72 in one cartridge from here:
    http://vectrex.playntradeonline.com/

Which I think will keep me going for a good while with games but I'm interested in what else is out there too so thanks to everyone that replied.

The system came with scramble which is a great game but I'm finding the joystick a little slippy. Has anyone else had similar issues and can anyone suggest any solutions?

I'm also getting addicted to Minestorm too although I've only managed to get as far as level 3.
