Question What is/was this arcade racer???

Hey all, I randomly thought of this old racing game recently and am really hoping someone can help me figure out what it is. I would love to relive this game.

Things I remember about this game:
Really not sure of the year but likely a late 80s or early 90s racer
Racing in a dune bug type car or something similar
Upright cabinet, possibly red-ish in color, control scheme and POV most likely similar to pole position
Somewhat “cartoony” or overly colorful graphics
Hazards on the track, fallen logs, water(?), jumps perhaps?
The main gimmick of the game was collecting flags for extra points, different colored flags for higher point totals
Attract mode (when demo-ing a race) had something like a wooden sign hanging down on the screen saying “game over” or “insert coints”, etc. that I think swayed back and forth

I've been looking around on Google and I found this...

Yes there's "Burnout" but there's a "Burn 'Out" too, is it this? http://ian.jeffray.co.uk/riscos/BurnOut/

unfortunately, thats not it septic but thanks for your sleuthing.

I know for a fact that it was an enclosed car (no heads/people visible as far as I can recall) and if I had to take a guess, I would say it was a little bit older of a game than that one.

If only I could remember the company that came out with it...that would really trim down the possibilities quite a bit I'm sure.

And if its not that then its Up n Down. Both have flags but Buggy Boy has the hazards you mention.
