You managed to get out using less than 5 lives? thats crazy man. did you have non spawning podcasters on? Scott is evil in the hard version and takes bullets like an 8-bit terminator.

I had both difficulty switches set to "A".

    My strategy:

    1. Ignore the Stetson and the VIP Pass
    2. Unlock the door leading to the CD's
    3. Go to the wide open room just outside of the Museum and hang out there to take out the podcasters
    4. cycle back and forth between museum room and the room outside the museum until carl appears, then lure carl into the museum so he will take the CD's
    5. hang out at the exit of the hotel until carl comes and switches the CD's for the super zapper you are holding

It was more of blind luck I was able to do it. By avoiding all the other trinkets and only going for the super zapper and key I was able to do it. If you can get the museum door open before carl picks up a object and get him to steal the key you are set to win the game losing no lives (since carl will swap the CD's with the super zapper you are holding). I have not been able to do this yet, been playing the game quite a bit since yesterday. Have only won the game once since yesterday's win and used 4 of the 5 lives this second time.

I want to thank Byte Knight and all you were involved with this project! I have not enjoyed a game this much on my Atari 2600 since Space Invaders back in the day

Glad you're enjoying the game. It's fun for me to see the strategies that you guys have developed to beat the game. Also, I'm more of a casual gamer, so it's amazing to me how you guys totally get into the game and dissect it! Although, there is still a strategy involving UK Mike and the hearing aid / CD's that you probably don't know about...

I'm assuming that you're talking about the Casino in the above post and not the Museum (blue rooms). On the randomized item level (Color / B&W switch to B&W), the CD's can appear in the Casino, Museum, or VIP area. Don't forget to try out that mode - that's hard even in the normal game.

3:11 is the time to beat! Switches are Color, B, B. Good luck! And remember, if you don't have a video recording, it didn't happen...

It's very easy on the Mac - launch Quicktime and go to File -> New Screen Recording and select what part of the screen you want to record. Not sure about the PC, but there must be some software out there...
