Thread: Wii games with no motion controls

Default Wii games with no motion controls

I live in a very small space, and while I do own a Wii I can't get much use out of it. I simply don't have the space to use the motion control! Even navigating the menu is a pain as I have to twist my body around uncomfortable and pull my arm backwards as far as I can just to get enough distance between the remote and the TV for the pointer to appear.

So, as a consequence my Wii gets used exclusively for Gamecube games.

I have heard that there are some actual Wii games that can be played entirely with the GC controller or with the remote/nunchuck combo using only the stick,d-pad and buttons. Can anyone out there recommend or at least mention a few titles, either on disc or sold via WiiWare that I might be able to play?

There are indeed games that don't require the use of moving around.
    -Data East Arcade Classics
    -Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
    -Fortune Street
    -Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition
    -Kirby's Epic Yarn
    -Klonoa
    -Monster Hunter Tri
    -Muramasa: The Demon Blade
    -Punch-Out!!
    -Super Paper Mario
    -Super Smash Bros. Brawl
    -Xenoblade Chronicles

I can't remember if Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World had motion controls in it or not.

Cheers, mate. A few of those have definitely piqued my interest in the past so I will be making a few investments soon.

Also every single emulator you get for the system.

I'm pretty sure Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing supported all the control schemes that you could think of (Sumo definitely made Virtua Tennis 2009 "playable" with a guitar hero controller, and it's a tradition to try and support as much as possible)

    The Wiiware Excitebike
Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 have classic controller support (and even with the stupid wiimote bullshit you don't really need to move around)
Mario Kart whateverthefuck supports pretty much everything I believe, including the GC controller.
