They are making an Android console that is going to be open. Has some really interesting options for emulation (among other things).

Yep, it could be and is my fear as well. I figured it was worth the 99 buck shot if for anythig, have another odd system to join the ranks of my other ones (virtual boy, Game.Com, etc...)

Im going to buy one once its released or if i can get one over the counter. I dont trust pre ordering this far ahead with developers just incase they go under etc....

I don't understand the hype. I have a $35 Raspberry Pi sitting here, which, within a couple of months, will be running Android 4.0. It plugs into my TV, has a couple of USB ports for keyboard/mouse/controller etc.
Why would I pay 3x the price to play the same games on a different machine?

I'm a little bit annoyed that my scepticism stopped me backing this after seeing how the pcb is shaping up in the latest update (smaller than i was imagining, although not surprising as it theoretically needs to be able to fit in a 7" tablet along with batteries etc (Tegra and it's supporting bits, that is))

What do you guys think the possibility that Ouya and the brand/company gets bought from Sega and they re brand it as their new console? Most of the videos I've seen with the development kit showcases Sonic games and it made me think... Could this be the next thing from Sega? What do you think is the possibility of this happening?
