Diagamblic wins! The blue bomber had 6 NES games. The only series to come close is Dragon Warrior with 4 games.

Close, but thats why I said NES. If we were talking Famicom than Final Fantasy with its 3 games, there were a lot of trilogies on the Famicom. The ones that were also domestic I know of off the top of my head are Double Dragon, Super Mario Brothers, Ninja Gaiden, Bases Loaded, RBI Baseball, Robocop, TMNT, Adventure Island, Ikari Warriors, Adventures of Lolo, Castlevania, and Donkey Kong.

True true. Here's a few other NES games in 3's.

Wizards and Warriors
Adventure Island (IV was only in japan)
Ikari Warriors
Contra
Ninja Gaiden
Bubble Bobble (Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Bubble Bobble 2)
Ultima III/IV/V
