Well, I didn't know about her either (except from the pictures that was posted at the time of the interview ) , but it says on the wikipedia page that she is the first person to win a national videogame competition (Space Invaders) so I would count her as a celebrity I didn't know of.

Great interviews! These are folks who I'm sure don't get as much recognition as they deserve. Fantastic to finally learn the truth about the Colecovision from Janelle. Also, Dark Tower was awesome! Here's a flash playable version of it http://hofle.com/darktower/DarkTower.swf

And Rebecca Heineman has some really interesting stories as well. Sounds like she didn't want to incriminate herself ;-). Now I wonder about the hacking/phreaking stories she didn't tell.

Yup, what was funny is realizing that we knew the same people and groups, and things that were done.... We were chatting about those things after the interview and had definitely crossed paths back in the day. And yes, many of those stories just can't be told.

The 3D printer segment got me thinking: The Turbografx CD-ROM drive has 3 plastic gears that move the optical pickup. The gear in the middle is made of a different material that is notorious for crumbling. What are the odds this can be 3D printed?.... and as I'm typing this you are getting into this on the podcast.

Agree. She was a great interviewee. I could've listened to 2 more hours of old phreaking/hacking stories.

Loved the phone phreaking stories.
As I've mentioned during a live news, I do know who RBCP and the Phone Losers of America are. He's still doing calls, and working with a prank call podcast group called Madhouse Radio.
Maybe RBCP would like a 3D printed cactus. ;)

Great show this month. Love the phone phreaking stories and would love to hear more.
It still amazes me how little info there is about the Colecovision; especially with game development. This was the system that I always wanted (and still do to this date) and was sorely jealous of the people who owned it.
