Oy, I'm still making my way through last month's show! I gotta get a move on!!!

Btw, thanks so much again for these shows, I really enjoy them on the commute. And hearing that woman's voice saying "no, no no no no" and other things like that never get old. I wonder if she (or he??) still listens to the show?

The keen eared among you may notice the deliberate mistake again with Guinness Gaming Records this month.

I've not been feeling myself lately. The down side is I've not been feeling anyone else either.

I thought it was a joke last month or something I had missed. Maybe I'm still missing something. Wouldn't be the first time.

Here's the video I put together featuring my capture of the April 2012 Live News and Listener Views. You can read the chat text just fine in 480p, but it looks really nice in 720p. :)

I suspect you thought that my news submission for Googles april-fools joke was a duplicate since I can't see it in the list (socal mentions it at the end of the news). The difference is that my link sends you to the still working 8-bit version of google maps.
(didn't see the link in the thenextweb page either and they have removed the "quest" link)

Awesome Chewie! I'm glad someone recorded this for posterity. Too bad Socal didn't fall on his posterior. :)

I love audio drops in talk shows; repetition somehow makes them funny, which is contrary to most types of humour. Who is that woman anyway?

Too bad Socal didn't fall on his posterior.

Maybe if somebody made a Harry the Fairy joke he would have?

I must say, props to UKMike for managing to record such an intimate moment from UKDerek before the top 10, you either had some help, or need to go and bleach your eyeballs ;)

...and you re-used the Guinness Gaming Records vocal track for Gaming Trivia this month as well ;-)

Diane Sauer, pinball repair expert, who sent the RGR crew a long segment of her own, mostly entirely disagreeing with their picks for top 10 best pinball innovations.

Just listening to the news segment now... sorry I couldn't be there (along with my "buddy" the Deaf CD Thief).

Anyway, Scott, I'm surprised you guys didn't really seem to get the joke about the 8-in-1 multi-cart submission. I sent it in on APRIL 1st (April Fools Day). It was meant to throw you for a loop with the "multi-cart" reference. Although as Scott pointed out, it could actually be useful in transporting your game collection items.

Anyway, great podcast once again! Loving it!

On spectators tifos in football involving Pac-Man, this is a photo report on one done for Danish team (Brondby) on an international match against Dutch Ajax. And it is actually an animation. No YouTube of this it seems.

Maybe hard to see, but they have pacman on a large transperant sheet that they move along and over the spectators each holding a small bi-colour sheet. The spectators turn their sheet in sync and all in all you get, or try to have, an animation of pacman eating Ajax.

On the return match in Amstadam, the Ajax supporters had a respons (also shown in the report). Which is kinda cute. Although at a smaller scale to say the least.

What a great show.
I found it interesting that there is only music during the Guinness Gaming Records and Gaming Trivia segments.
I really like playing Donkey Kong II and have played it a lot at California Extreme and will be playing it at Funspot during my visit there.:)
According to the Dragon's Lair Project, it looks like the creator of Donkey Kong II is Jeff Kulczycki.

I plan to change it up a little in the coming months and put words into those segments again.

We'll see how it goes.

If anyone saw a man walking a dog through sheffield last night giggling like a loon that was me coming back from the pub whilst listening to the breast 20 questions, best one yet

You go to the pub with your dog?

He lives in Yorkshire, it is required to gain entry to most pubs.

Some pubs also demand you keep a ferret in your trousers and a maggot under your tongue.

In the spirit if the top ten driving games I would like to give an honorable mention to a laser disc driving game from Sega called GP World. I only saw this game in 2 locations back in its day. The first was at the Disneyland Starcade (remember when it was 2 floors of nothing but games?) and the other was at Redondo Beach at the Redondo Fun factory on the boardwalk back when it was much bigger and had games tucked into every corner of it. It got smaller by having a fish restaurant built in the middle of it.
Anyhow, I liked playing this game. :)
It was a sit down cockpit model with great sound.

Good choice!

And I've been to both of those arcades. I'm not far from the one on the Redondo Beach Pier. It's still pretty decent, but you're right... it used to be a lot more packed with games.
